Mangaluru, Nov 28, 2016: The Apex trade and industry body of the region now has a dynamic industrialist as its Chairman who hopes to take the organization to greater heights by living up to the expectations and aspirations of the business fraternity.

Jeevan Saldanha, the new President of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a man with great business acumen and skill as is evident with his successful venture Spectrum Industries, an ISO 9000 Company certified for the Design, Manufacture and Supply of Electronic Colour Sorters by the British Standard Institute.

A  Mangalurean, Jeevan Saldanha is an alumnus of St Aloysius High School and College. He has a BE degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Jeevan unlike his other classmates, rather than searching for a job, went on to start his own company  in 1993, thus pioneering the manufacture of Optical Colour Sorting Machinery in India. The firm has also developed the first Colour Sorting Machine for the optical separation of Seeds and Grains.

In the past, he has served as the President of the District Small Industries Association, Chairman of Mangalore Round Table 115, Honorary Secretary of Mangalore Club and also as Member of the Board of Directors of KCCI for 10 years. He  is also the recipient of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s  Business Award in the year 2006. Also a good sportsman, Jeevan Saldanha was the Captain of the hockey team of his college.
