Suchethana AnchanMangaluru, Nov 24, 2018: The Mangalorean Billawa community settled in Muscat, Oman  are proud that their organization Oman Billawas now has its first woman President in Suchethana Anchan. Her elevation to the post of President of Oman Billawas is hailed as a progressive step forward and a symbol of women’s empowerment. As the new President of Oman Billawas, her vision is to foster women’s empowerment, youth development and bring in the best of practices within the Billawa community.

A Mangalorean by birth, Suchethana hails from Urva. She had her primary and high school education at Lourdes School, and later did her BA at Besant Women’s College. A teacher by profession in Muscat, she is known for her excellent interpersonal skills. Her husband KN Anchan too is working in Oman and the couple is blessed with a daughter and son.

Suchethana Anchan is an active member in the Mangalorean community in Oman. She has earlier headed the Cultural Committee of Oman Billawas.  Suchethana takes keen interest in youth development - be it sports, education or helping the needy. She has also served in other cultural platforms in Oman and strongly believes that the community can be developed by bringing people together and working towards progress.
