Sachitha NandagopalMangaluru, August 25, 2015: She is a teacher, a mentor an administrator and a caring lady to many including elders of destitute old age homes. From teaching journalism to heading an NGO, Sachitha Nandagopal has come a long way.

Presently, Executive Director of Centre for Integrated Learning, an NGO trying to add value to present education system Sachitha is a Post  Graduate in  Mass Communication and Journamism from Mangalore  University. She initially worked as Head of the Department of Journalism at Besant Women’s College and later as Principal of CMR Institute of PG studies in Media Studies, Bengaluru before quitting her job to pursue her passion of working with children and youth in personality development and social awareness activities.

Sachitha has also served as Presisdent of Mangaluru Toastmasters Club and through the Centre for Integrated Learning, has been aiding her husband and senior journalist S Nandagopal in reaching out to thousands of students.

Experimenting in fields of her passion has been her constant endeavour and Navaras Hobby Dancers Club is such such offshoots. A versatile dancer herself, she mooted this platform to provide opportunities to all those who have passion for dance but no scope to pursue it. `Bringing together people through dance’ has been the objective of Navaras which annually conducts Navaras Utsav by bringing people from different walks of life together to perform under one roof, may it be the blind students, elders of old age home, special children, HIV Positive kids, inmates of orphanages who are less privileged to housewives, school and college students from alluent sections of the society.

Aptly, she has been nominated to be conferred the `Outstanding  Community Leader’ award constituted by International Institute for Public Policy, an institution initiated by Mangalorean NRI Max Rasquinha who is settled in Houston, USA.

Sachitha presently works at the Centre for Ethics at Yenepoya Medical University.
