Renita D’Silva: Weaving Wonderful Stories

Mangalore Today News Network

Renita DSilva authorMangalore, April 11, 2014: Writing stories is a skill in itself and not everyone is gifted with this wonderful skill of weaving stories that can rapture the minds of readers. A coastal talent is making waves in story writing with two of her novels  already winning a lot of appreciation.

The novels ‘Monsoon Memories’ and ‘The Forgotten Daughter’ speak for themselves about the talent of this  woman who has her roots in Kallianpur in Udupi district.

As a little girl, Renita D’Silva loved reading story books.Though the small library in her village had inadequate books, Renita’s father encouraged her to read more and more by  getting as many books as possible for his loving daughter.

Renita who grew up reading those books, worked in Bangalore for some time and then flew to the UK in 2000 after her marriage. A creative writing course which she took up there fine toned her writing skills and her debut novel ‘Monsoon Memories’ says it all. Her second novel ‘The Forgotten Daughter’ too is set in India, both revolving around women with a touch of feminist angle.

Several of her stories have been published in journals and publications including Paragraph Planet, Platinum Page and The View from Here.
Good luck to Renita who not only loves to write stories, but also immensely enjoys reading story books.
