Mangaluru, Jan 1, 2016: Puttur’s Assistant Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rajendra K. V. is an officer of rare genre. That this officer has a people-friendly approach was proved right from day one, when he chose to visit the Government Hospital at Puttur within just a couple of days of his taking charge, with a genuine concern to solve the plight of the Endosulfan victims.
Hailing from Tirthahalli village, Rajendra is a doctor by qualification. He graduated from the Bapuji Medical College of Davangere. An outstanding student that he was, Rajendra secured the 32nd rank in Civil Service Examination, and got his first posting as Assistant Secretary of Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. He later served the Indian Railway Medical Service in Delhi.
Presently, as the Assistant Commissioner of Puttur, Rajendra aspires to be a pro-people officer who can feel the pulse of the masses, understand their plight and try his level best to mitigate their hardships.
