Mangalore, June 21, 2014: Mangalore as an education hub is rapidly advancing in all disciplines and one can encounter many young motivated people. ’Mangalore today’  came across an extraordinary student recently. This serious ’gentleman’ tells his story here: " My name is Aydin Qadmi. I was born in 1979 in Iran. I am fluent in Turkish my mother tongue, Persian as a formal language and as Iran is run by Islamic rules, I learnt Arabic in school. I did my bachelor degree in ’Social Planing’ and  earned a masters in ’International Relations and Political science’ .  I am proud of the Turkish and Persian culture in which I am rooted - a culture which I believe is rich in tolerance and acceptance. Certainly, my last three years in India has changed my life in countless ways. From the minute I stepped off the plane at Mumbai Airport, my feelings of excitement about a new environment told me that I definitely was not in Iran."

"In Mangalore, I joined Roshni Nilaya for a  Masters in Social Work (MSW) and for the first time I was with peers in a country which I had only read about. Although it was sometimes difficult trying to find links between my self and my local friends. I soon came to enjoy my new environment.  The study of Social Planning in my undergraduate studies, gave me a rigorous background in qualitative analysis to see its real time application in the social development. I aim to harness the potential to push through human suffering and glimpse the light of wisdom. This was what brought me to India with deep hope.  Whatever I do in the future, I hope to do it with knowledge and compassion in  honor of humanity to greater heights. Social Work  gives creativity and skill in the field of human service to tackle large and seemingly impossible social problems."

Aydin says, as a determined, and self-driven individual, he enjoys studying in a highly motivating institution which helped to utilize academic background to assist gain in experience and employ his excellent interpersonal skills to enable positive contributions. He adds, looking back at time in Mangalore, all  he thinks is how fortunate it is to have such a wonderful experience. The move to India not only allowed him to feel a completely different side of the world, but  also enabled to establish unbreakable bonds with many interesting and amazing people. He signs out "I cannot even imagine what I would be like without having lived in India. I would have missed out on meeting many extraordinary people and  to be me - a completely different person today".
