Mangaluru, Jan 28, 2015: If you think a dentist will just concentrate on creating  awareness on oral health, you are wrong. Here is an outstanding dentist who is on a mission of sensitizing the society on the importance of blood donation through his book ‘Blood Donor Life Saver’ which is distributed free of cost to the people.

He is Dr Muralee Mohan Choontharu. Presently a Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at AB Shetty Dental College, Derlakatte, Dr Muralee  is now even the new DK District Commandant of Home Guards.

Hailing from Choontharu in Sullia taluk of DK, Dr  Muralee Mohan’s 48 page book which is also translated into Kannada “Rakta Daana Jeevadana” has already reached over 10,000 people with the help of  Lions Club and other organisations and highlights the facts and myths about blood donation.

Dr Muralee who presently resides in Mangaluru and  also  runs a dental clinic and trauma care cente at Hosangdi in Manjeshwar is a past president of the Mangaluru chapter of Indian Dental Association and also that of the DK District unit of the Indian Red Cross Society.

Dr Muralee is indeed a crusader who wants to motivate people  to donate blood to save lives and also help blood banks achieve self sufficiency.
