Accused in rape case arrested in Kaniyur after long

Nov 09, 2018: The Bellare Police on November 8,  Thursday arrested Udayan alias Achyutan, an accused involved in a rape case, in Kaniyur.

In a press note, the Dakshina Kannada Police said that Udayan from Udayagiri village in Taliparamba taluk of Kannur district had not appeared before court for over four years in a rape case registered in the Taliparamba Police Station.

On a tip-off that Udayan was working as a rubber tapper in a farm in Kaniyur, a team led by Police Sub-Inspector Eerayya D.N. arrested him.He was handed over to the Kerala Police.

The police team included head constables Balakrishna, Satish, Chandrashekar and Umesh.
