Puttur man killed in gory road smash up in Oman

Puttur/Muscat, September 2, 2018: A man hailing from Puttur was killed  with five other people in a gory road accident in the Sultanate of Oman recently, the news reached here late due to identity delays. . The deceased from Puttur has now  been identified as Prashanth Nayak (40), resident  of near the Laxmi Venkatesh Temple.  The information of the accident has just come to light.

On August 20, the car in which Prashanth was travelling with Ankush Sharma, Sushil Rukhayyar and Gaurav Sharma from Jaipur collided with another car carrying two people. Instantly on collision, both the cars were engulfed in flames resulting in the charring of the body.

Prashanth had visited Oman along with friends to spend the three days Bakrid holiday. He had earlier worked in Dubai and Muscat.  Since the fire had completely charred the mortal remains of the victim, the body of Prashanth was identified by matching DNA with that of Prashanth’s brother, Jagadeesh Nayak, who works in Muscat.

According to sources, all the legal procedures were completed by August 31 and Prashanth’s body is said to arrive at his relative’s residence here in Mangaluru either on September 3 or 4.
