More than 500 candidates for ULB polls in twin districts.

Mangaluru/Udupi: A total of 250 candidates are in fray for three urban local bodies which will go to polls in Dakshina Kannada district on August 31.

 

Ullal CMC has 31 wards and 102 candidates are contesting here. Bantwal TMC has 27 wards with 71 candidates in fray. Puttur CMC has 31 candidates with 77 candidates.  A total of 261 contestants are in fray for the polls to be held for the four urban local bodies in Udupi district on August 31.

The counting of the votes is held on September 3.

Following the withdrawals of nomination papers, 261 out of 274 contestants have remained in the fray in Udupi district.

In Udupi CMC, there are 35 wards and 91 candidates are contesting the polls. A total of 95 candidates had filed their nomination papers.

After the withdrawal of nomination papers, sixty-eight candidates are contesting from 23 wards of Kundapur TMC.

A total of 56 candidates are contesting from 23 wards of Karkala TMC.

In Saligrama Town Panchayat, 46 candidates are contesting from 16 wards.
