Shiroor Mutt seer to sue if idols not back.

Udupi, July 17, 2018 : Shiroor Mutt seer Sri Lakshmivara Theertha stated that he would approach court to file the criminal suit, if the Ashta Mutt seers fail to hand him Anna Vittala, the presiding deity of Shiroor Mutt.

Speaking to media the seer said, “I am not asking for Lord Krishna, I am only demanding my Mutt’s Lord, whom I had handed over to the Adamaru Mutt junior seer to offer prayers as I was not well. I am not under any fear, however, as I respect the court, I will remain silent for a few days.”

Lakshmivara Theeertha said that he is not attending any of the meetings called by the Ashta Mutt seers.

“The presiding deity of one of the Mutts was polluted while it was taken by the seer of that Mutt during the journey. The officials who were in the airport have touched the statue as against the rule in the Krishna Mutt, which states that except the concerned seer, no other person is authorised to touch the statue of the presiding deity,” he pointed out.

He said he is aware of the conspiracies against him.  “I will not appoint a junior seer as there are other seers who need to follow certain formalities. Let all other seers follow and abide the rules. Only then will I abide by the rules put forth in the Mutt,” the seer challenged.

He said he is waiting for the right time to file a criminal case. He also indirectly accused veteran Pejawar Mutt seer for all the complications. “I would be at any cost getting my presiding deity back, whatever be the end result. The seers have no right to snatch my right to worship the presiding deity,” he insisted.
