MCJ department to organize seminar on March 29-30

Mangalore, Mar 27: A two day seminar on ‘Media, politics and culture’ will be conducted by the department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Mangalore at Mangalore University Old Senate Hall on Monday March 29 and Tuesday March 30.


Prof. G P Shivram, Chairman, Mass communication and Journalism, Mangalore University said here that the programme is being conducted under the auspices of UGC sponsored Special Assistance Programme. 


The function will be inaugurated on March 29 by Ishwar Daitota, former editor, Kannada Times of India, Bangalore at 10.00 am. G N Mohan, CEO, Mayflower Media House, Bangalore will deliver the keynote address and professor T C Shivashankara Murthy, vice-chancellor, Mangalore University will preside over the function. 


Two day seminar will have various sessions, in which, professionals from media field like noted film director/ TV producer, Abdul Rehman Pasha, Girish Rao, editor, Suvarna Entertainment, Bangalore, H N Arathi, senior programme executive, Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Bangalore, Dr T C Poornima, news-editor, Karnataka Regional News Service, All India Radio, Bangalore, V U George, editor, Mangalore Today Monthly English Magazine, Dr Shivsharan, director, Namma TV, Stephen Mascarenhas, editor, Daijiworld weekly, noted Kannada writer Dr Sara Abubakar, professor D S Poornananda, Kuvempu University will present papers, he said.
