ICAI national conference, ’Swadhyaya’ in city, July 6,7

Mangaluru, July 06 2018: National conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), ‘Swadhyaya’, will be organised at Dr T M A Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru, from today, July 6 to July 7.

Addressing media in Mangaluru,  ICAI Mangaluru branch chairman Shivananda Pai said that the conference will be inaugurated by Bharath Group of Companies executive director Ananth G Pai on July 6 at 9.15 am. ICAI, New Delhi, Professional Development Committee chairman Rajneesh Kumar Agarwal will preside over the programme. Bharat Forge Ltd executive director Kishore M Saletore, Karnataka Bank general manager Y V Balachandra and ICAI - IDTC chairman Madhukar N Hiregange will be the guests of honour.

Speakers from across the country will present their papers during the conference. Around 500 chartered accountants, 400 students and industrialists will take part in the event.

Shivananda Pai further said that the valedictory of the conference will be held on July 7 at 5 pm.

The ICAI is a statutory body regulating the chartered accountancy course and chartered accountants in India. The institute has five regional councils, 163 branches and 30 overseas branches. The Mangaluru branch was established in 1971 and has 600 odd members. The branch has been adjudged the best branch in medium category in the southern region during the last two years. Around 2000 students are undergoing their CA training under the branch’s jurisdiction.
