One lone BJP loss in DK

Mangaluru, May 16, 2018: Santosh Kumar Boliyar, the lone BJP candidate to be defeated in Dakshina Kannada, was in tears while explaining about his defeat from former Food and Civil Supplies Minister U.T. Khader in Mangaluru Assembly constituency.

“I got 60,000 votes that I had estimated. I expected the Janata Dal (Secular) and Communit Party of India (Marxist) to poll more more votes, but that did not happen. It is fate,” he told reporters and then got emotional, “It difficult for me to explain my party men who worked hard for me. This is my first defeat in an election.”
