Mangaluru Apr 30, 2018: Results of the 2018 II PU examination will be announced today April 30,  Monday. The Department of Pre-University Education has said that students can access the results on the websites http://karresults.nic.in and http://puc.kar.nic.in after 11.30 a.m.

C. Shikha, director of the department, said the results would be published in the respective colleges on May 1,  Tuesday. A total of 6.9 lakh students had registered for the examination that was conducted in March.

The examination was conducted early this year owing to the State Assembly elections that are scheduled to be held on May 12.

As many as 2.01 lakh candidates from Arts stream, 2.56 lakh from Commerce stream, and 2.32 lakh from the Science stream had registered for the exam, department officials said.

After looking into errors in the question papers, the expert committee that submitted a report to the department said that all students would get two grace marks for the English paper, while there was a possibility of students getting up to six marks in the physics paper.

The department has decided not to allow private websites to host the results as there was an error in some of the results from a private company a couple of years ago.
