Nitte varsity to start new courses in allied health sciences

Mangaluru, Apr 19, 2018 : Nitte Deemed to be University has announced starting master’s degree (MSc) in Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology (A and OTT), Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) and Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from this academic year.

A release said that students who have completed their BSc degree in these categories can apply. Candidates who obtained this two-year master’s degree can work in teaching and technician posts in allied health sciences institutions across the country and abroad. There is more scope and vacancies for such professionals in Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre (Anaesthesia) and Imaging Technology (Radiographer) sections as these courses are not offered frequently.

There is an unprecedented demand for technical staff (technicians) working as a doctor’s assistants. Their significance in medical service is unparalleled.

Today’s technologically sophisticated medical services cannot be used by any institute without the help of the technician. For example, MRI, CT scan, Anaesthesia workstation, ICU equipment and lab analysers have high levels of technology and technicians are indispensable to do their daily exploit, as well as routine maintenance.
