Rs 7.4 lakh unaccounted cash seized in 2 cases

Mangaluru, April 8, 2018: Two cases of unaccounted cash transportation have been detected and cash amounting to Rs 7.4 lakh seized.

A person named Rajashekhara Andinje was found transporting Rs 2.9 lakh cash without any supporting documents with him in a car near Pumpwell. Though he said it was meant to be distributed to labourers at Belthangady, his bringing the cash to the city raised doubt and the same was seized after instructing  him to provide supporting documents.

In another case, a  cash of Rs 4.5 lakh was seized by officials from a car near Sasthan in Udupi district. The cash was being transported by a person associated with a poultry farm and another person operating a finance company.
