Mangaluru, Mar 27, 2018: Speaking to media here on March 26,  Monday,MLC and Chifef whip Ivan D’Souza said that the Congress will win all the 13 seats in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. The tour of AICC President Rahul Gandhi has boosted the morale of the Congress workers, which has been proved in the number of people participated in the road shows and conventions organised by Rahul Gandhi in Hyderabad-Karnataka, Mumbai-Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka and Mysuru regions.

“Secular ideology gets more support in Dakshina Kannada district. Participation of a large number of people during the visit of AICC president Rahul Gandhi is a testimony to the fact that people are attracted to secular ideology,” he said and added that people of the district will no longer support the party that instigates communal violence in the district.

Further, he said “the BJP cannot win the election through ‘Mann Ki Baat’. There is Congress wave in Karnataka. The tactics of the BJP will not work in winning the election. The BJP’s dream of winning the upcoming election is beyond reality,” he felt.

He alleged that the state BJP leaders have lost the confidence of the people. Hence, Union ministers are sent to Karnataka for political campaign. “Owing to the one-man administration of Narendra Modi, people are unaware of many of the union ministers,” he said.

Making a scathing attack on Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda’s statement that the upcoming assembly election will be the last election for the Congress, Ivan D’Souza said, “2019 general elections will be the last election for the BJP. The BJP that comes to power once and will not come to power again. Modi’s countdown has already begun and has been proved in the recently held byelections.”

D’Souza said, “The way D V Sadananda Gowda is active in social media, if he spends a little time on his protfolio, the country would have seen much more development,” and added that Sadananda Gowda has made the statement without applying his mind.

D V Sadananda Gowda who started his political career by staging a padayatra demanding to protect the interest of arecanut growers has failed to come to the rescue of arecanut growers when the growers are in distress now.
