Mangaluru, Mar 02, 2018: Around 165 students did not appear for the Economics exam, while 27 were absent for the Physics exam on the first day of the II PU exams held in Udupi district on March 1, Thursday.

According to the Department of Pre-University Education, of the 9,664 students eligible for writing the Economics exam, 9,500 appeared. Of the 5,626 students eligible for the Physics exam, 5,599 appeared. There were no instances of malpractice or any untoward incident in any exam centre in the district, said Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Director of PU Education.
