Take communal incidents seriously, JD(S) tells Centre

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, July 14,2017: The JD(S) has urged the Union and State governments to take communal incidents in the district seriously and take steps to curb them to prevent innocents from being victims.

Addressing presspersons here recently, S.L. Bhoje Gowda, general secretary of the JD(S) State unit, said it was a matter of concern that people in the district have not been able to move around freely owing to communal tension. He said district in charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai should have convened a peace meeting to defuse the tension.

He alleged that the BJP and Congress have been making use of the communal tension for their political gains. He said the government has been spending a lot to maintain law and order in the district, especially in Bantwal taluk, by posting police personnel. A situation has arisen that police have to be posted permanently in Kalladka. It’s a loss to the exchequer, he said.
