DK experiences rainfall

Puttur, Mar 17: The entire taluk of Puttur and several parts of Belthangady and Sullia witnessed copious rains this afternoon, making the atmosphere cooler by several degrees. The district officials say that rain began falling at 2:30 p.m. and continued for around 1 hour. Some regions witnessed rainfall for 2 hours. 

 

 

The rains disrupted normal life because people who were celebrating Ugadi had to stay at home in the afternoon. There were minor floods in a place called Savanur in Sullia. Trees fell down at one or two areas in Puttur and blocked traffic for sometime. Belthangady experienced heavy rainfall. 

The cities of Udupi and Mangalore witnessed heavy clouds in the afternoon; and a few places witnessed light drizzling.
