Singapore varsity team bags first place in quiz

Udupi, Jan 11, 2017: The team from National University of Singapore comprising Shivam Bharadwaj and Rohan Naidu proved its mettle by securing the first position and winning a cash prize of Rs. 6 lakh in the 14th edition of the Quiz on the Beach organised by the T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPM) on the Malpe Beach here on January 8.

A press release said that the team of Jyotish Kalita and Kumar Shivam from Guwahati University were the first runners-up and won a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh. The team of Sailesh Sriram and Nabil Silva from Manipal Institute of Technology, who were declared the second runners-up, took home a prize of Rs. 1 lakh.

The prizes were distributed by Gerd Gigerenzer, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin, Germany. The event started off with a special address by Director of TAPMI, Gururaj Kidiyoor. Giri Balasubramaniam was the quiz master.
