Mangalore Nov 2, 10 pm: The CID wing of the Karnataka Police has been investigating ‘Love Jihad’ cases in South Kanara since few days. They have completed investigation and the report is expected to be placed with the Home ministry and the High Court in few days. It is learned that two suspected cases have been identified in the district. However Police sources declined to confirm.

While Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajarang Dal and other Hindu organizations have been making hue and cry about ‘Love Jihad’ for some time, Islamic organizations have blamed it as an issue to disturb the communal harmony.

The High court of Kerala had asked the Director General of Police to submit a detailed report of any such cases happened in the state. The report submitted by the DGP had been criticized as inconclusive.
