Dasara vacation reduced, teachers, students in DK, Udupi unhappy

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Sep 23, 2016: Government, schools in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts will have five days less of Dasara vacation this year.  Usually Primary and High School students are sent for Dasara vacation soon after midterm examinations; however, this year the government has reduced the number of holidays owing to the time lost to bandhs.

Thus, instead of having Dasara vacation from October 3 to 30, students will be sent on vacation from October 9.

The order has not been well received by students and teachers of various schools in the twin districts. Thus, the Teachers Unions of both districts will meet officials and discuss the matter.
