Mangaladevi Temple celebrates its annual jathra

Mangalore, Mar 7: Magaladevi Temple commenced its 5-day jathra on March 5, Friday. The event drew large crowds of devotees to the temple. 

The temple, which is situated at Bolar, has lent its name and historic significance to Mangalore. The city has obtained its name from Goddess Magaladevi, the main deity of the temple. 

The temple was decorated with bright lights. People from all walks of life and all age groups participated in the jathra.
