Mangalore Today News Network

Manipal, July 28,2016:   Recognising  the rising motorcycle craze among the student community here, an alumnus of Manipal Institute of Engineering has launched an RTO-licensed bike rental service.  Madhya Pradesh-based Tanmay Bohra’s "IndiaRides" offers 23 two-wheelers consisting of major brands such as KTM, Royal Enfield, Bajaj and Honda. Tanmay said his bikes can be picked up from the Manipal office or booked online through www.indiarides.com.

The Engineering graduate said there are over 25,000 students in Manipal and Udupi and there is huge demand for motorbikes from them, especially during weekends and holidays.
It’’s heartening to see fresh graduates shunning away juicy jobs to initiate start ups like this. I can see Modiji’’s Startup India vision to encourage talent to create jobs through such examples.

"Anyone with a valid driver’s licence can use the rental service. The tariff starts from Rs 20 per hour (for Honda Activa) excluding fuel cost. A refundable security deposit of Rs 1,500 to Rs 5,000 would also be levied, " Tanmay said.   The venture was inaugurated by Pramod Madhwaraj, minister of state for fisheries and youth affairs and sports.
