Addiction-free society in Kasargod dist

Kasaragod, June 27, 2016: Speaking after inaugurating a programme organised to mark International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, organised by Government College in Kasargod on June 26, Sunday,   Kerala Revenue Minister E Chandrashekhar stressed on the need to put an end to drug addiction and felt that the role of social organisations is significant in this regard. 

He said the use of illegal drugs is increasing in the society and all people must join hands with the government to put an end to the menace. There is an urgent need that an addiction-free society is cultivated as the drug addiction work against the development of the society.Not only the drug addicts, but also their family members face bad consequences. Many youths and students fall into the vicious circle of illegal drug sale. Schools and colleges must conduct a series of campaigns towards drug addiction-free society.

MLA N A Nellikunnu presided over the programme. Superintendent of Police Thomsan Jose, City Municipal Council President Beefathima Ibrahim, College Principal In-charge K K Muhammed Ali, Press Club President Sanni Joseph, Indian Red Cross Society district President E Chandrashekharan and others spoke at the meet.
