In Udupi around 4,240 students for CET, May 4,5

Mangaluru, May 3, 2016: It has been reported that at least 4,240 students are set to appear for the CET,  Common Entrance Test being conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) in Udupi district on May 4 and 5.

R.B. Nayak, Deputy Director of Pre-University Education, told media here on Monday that the CET exams would be held in 11 centres in the district — six in Udupi, three in Kundapur and two in Karkala.

The six centres in Udupi are: Vidyodaya Pre-University College, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial PU College, Poornaprajna PU College, Manipal Pre-University College, Government PU College and Government Girls PU College. The three centres in Kundapur are Government PU College, R.N. Shetty PU College and Bhandarkars PU College, while the two centres in Karkala are Sri Bhuvanendra PU College and Government PU College.

Observers to monitor :  The district administration had appointed a Class I government officer as observer for every exam centre. There would be a two-member sitting squad, deputed by KEA, from other districts for every centre. In addition, there would be a flying squad for the district. The Deputy Commissioner will be the Chief Superintendent for the conduct of the exams.

Prohibitory orders would be in place in a radius of 200 metres around all exam centres. All photocopying shops around the centre are ordered to close down during the examinations.

The Biology exam would be held from 10.30 a.m. to 11.50 a.m. on May 4, while the Mathematics exam would be held from 2.30 p.m. to 3.50 p.m. The Physics exams would be held from 10.30 a.m. to 11.50 a.m. on May 5, while the Chemistry exam will be held from 2.30 p.m. to 3.50 p.m. the same day.
