Prof Murthy is new vice chancellor of Mangalore University

Mangalore, Mar 2: Governor H R Bharadwaj has appointed Prof T C Shivashankara Murthy, the former professor of Botany of the University of Mysore, as the Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University according to the Karnataka State Universities Act 2000. 

The governor has issued a notification stated that Prof Murthy will be the vice chancellor for a period of 4 years or till he attains 65 years of age. 

Prof Murthy is the successor of Prof K K Achary, the most senior dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology of Mangalore University, who was appointed as the acting vice chancellor from Jan 12, 2010.
