Girl found dead in house

Udupi, Aug 27, 2015 : A nine-year-old girl was found dead at her house at Malpe in the early hours of Tuesday (August 25).

According to the Malpe police, the deceased has been identified as Lalita, daughter of Parmesh Lamani and Shantha Lamani from Medleri tanda, Rannebennur, Haveri district. Parmesh works as a fisherman at Malpe.

When the couple got up at 7.30 a.m. on Tuesday, they found that Lalita had hanged herself from the roof of the house. They rushed her to the district government hospital here, where she died. Lalita was a Class 3 student at Fisheries School in Malpe and was good at studies.

The post-mortem had been conducted at Kasturba Hospital in Manipal.

The post-mortem report was expected in a couple of days.
