Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru , July 24, 2015:  According to the ABVP - Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, degree certificates issued by Mangalore University at the recent  33rd convocation on June 17 had several errors.

The certificate did not mention the A grade accreditation to the university by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The word “technology” was missing in the certificates issued to science graduates.  Spelling of Syndicate was mentioned as “Synidcate”. The date 17 was mentioned as “17 h” instead of “17th”.

The font size used to mention the faculty under which the doctoral degree was awarded was so small that it was difficult to read with bare eyes.

Meanwhile, in a June 20 letter to the Mangalore University Research Scholars’ Association, Vice-Chancellor K Byrappa wrote: …I express my concern to the errors in the degree certificates issued on the convocation day.  The Registrar (Evaluation) has already been instructed to correct the mistakes and to issue fresh certificates to the concerned students….   Negligence and lack of  concern is not only increasing work loads, stress and waste of money.
