Tulu poems ’Mayodo Nirel’ released

Mangaluru:  In an inaugural address during the release of ’Mayodo Nirel,’ a collection of Tulu poems by Shobha Bagambila, at Ravindrakalabhavana July 5,  litterateur Vasanthkumar Perla said that Tulu, like any language  has its own social, cultural background and literature should be developed accordingly. Shobha Bagambila is a special talent among Tulu poets and her works highlight the richness of the language.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader released ’Mayodo Nirel’ meaning shadow of truth. The book, published by Sri Karunya Prakashana Bagambila, is second collection of poems by Shobha Bagambila and comprises around 40 Tulu poems.

Litterateur Perla said unfortunately many of the Tulu poets follow Kannada model. The poems by Shobha highlight the folk richness of Tulu like Ural, Kabito, Sandhi, etc. The basics of Tulu language and shadow of folk culture can be identified in her works. She has unearthed new possibilities in the Tulu poetry, Perla said.
