INSPIRE - programme on option for basic science

Mangaluru , June 1, 2015: Speaking at the valedictory of a five-day residential ’Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’  (INSPIRE) internship programme organised by the School of Life Sciences (SLS), Manipal University, here journalist Chakravarthy Sulibele on May 30 Saturday, stated that  Youngsters should start thinking about pursuing pure science as a career option. According to a  press release by the SLS here, nearly 170 students participated in the programme.

Journo  Sulibele urged the students to “look within” and be inspired to understand and pursue the scientific questions that pervade people’s day to day life.  He wanted the youth to think of resolving such pertinent issues such as renewability of resources and energy consumption.   Vinod Thomas, Director of Manipal Institute of Technology, welcomed the gathering. K.K. Mahato proposed a vote of thanks.  There was a lot of healthy  interaction from students at the meet.
