New Railway Helpline No. 138, functional 24 X 7 from March 1

Palghat, Feb 29: As announced in the Railway Budget o¬n 26.02.2015 by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, a customer helpline number ‘138’ has been introduced. All voice complaints relating to cleanliness, food & catering, coach maintenance, medical emergency, linen, etc will be handled through this helpline number. Travelling public are requested to identify themselves while lodging complaints and to make use of this facility to help Railway serve them better.

It is however pointed out that inquiries related to PNR, train arrival/departure and train handling platforms, will not be dealt with in this helpline number.
