Couple appear before HC

Mangaluru, Nov 29, 2014: Bharatraj G. (24), from Ira village in Bantwal, and his wife Insha (19) appeared before the Karnataka High Court on Friday.

The couple appeared after Insha’s parents filed a Habeas Corpus petition seeking directions to be given to the Ullal police to produce the couple.

Insha’s parents had earlier filed a missing complaint and accused Bharatraj of kidnapping their daughter.

The couple had married in a temple in Yenmur village in Sullia Taluk on November 19. The girl reportedly told the court that she married Bharatraj of her own volition and there was no force or compulsion.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Pavan Nijjur was in the High Court.
