Mangalore, oct 26, 2014: Despite Dakshina Kannada district occupying second position in the implementation of Kandaya adalat in the State, the number of applications that are processed in the adalats held in the district are on the lower side compared to other districts.  Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim has cited lack of awareness among people as the reason behind poor response to adalats. He was chairing a meeting to review the progress of Kandaya adalat at his office on Saturday. The DC said that around 80 applications are received during aadalat in the district, where as the number of applications is over 2,000 in districts like Kolar. The programme has not been effective in the district, he observed.

Since the third week of June when adalat was inaugurated, 60 adalat sessions have been conducted in the district and a total of 6,129 applications were recived before these adalats.
