Dowry Harassment Case Registered against Man

Udupi, October 30,2009: Malpe police have registered a dowry harrassment case against Umesh Putran, who allegedly tortured his wife Bhavani Salian (34) for additional dowry. 

When Bhavani was married to Umesh, her family gave gold ornaments and Rs. 50,000 to Umesh Putran as dowry. Later, Umesh and his family began harassing Bhavani physically and mentally to bring additional dowry. 

Besides, Umesh had also gone to Bhavani’s parental house and demanded for additional dowry of Rs 50,000. He also threatened that he would kill Bhavani and her child if the money was not given to him.
