Natyakala Tapaswini’ award to be conferred on Nandini Ramani

Mangalore, Oct 22, 2014: Addressing a press meet, district Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that Dr B MHegde will confer the award and Kateel Sri Lakshmi Narayana Assranna will bless the event. 

On the occasion of 81st birthday of Sridevi Nritya Kendra founder Jayalakshmi Alva, the Kendra will confer ‘Natyakala Tapaswini’ award on veteran danseuse Nandini Ramani, at SDM College auditorium in Mangalore on October 25.   Kannada and Culture department Assistant Director Chandrahas Rai will be the chief guest.

A unique dance ballet ‘Tridev and Karavaligaatha’ choreographed by Alva will be presented by the students of the kendra on the occasion.  Kendra board of director Araty H Shetty said that the kendra will organise a workshop on Padam and Javali by Nandini Ramani at Vishwanath Temple Punaroor from October 26 to 28.
