Antelope killed in Balpa, hunters flee spot

Mangalore, Sep 28, 2014: An antelope was killed by hunters at Balpa Reserve forest area near Subramanya on Sept 27. The hunters who cut the neck of the antelope, were transporting the carcass in a Tata Ace.

On spotting  police vehicle, the driver of the tempo speeded up and lost control on a turn. The vehicle turned turtle and fell into a gorge. Immediately, the driver and another person fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle and carcass of the antelope.

The police who seized the vehicle, found a gun, two bullets, three hydrates and a knife. A case has been registered in Subramanya police station. The culprits are at large.
