Hunger strike by Karmika Sangha leader

Mangalore, Sep 17, 2014:  Demanding fulfilment of various demands, Akhila Bharatha Karmika Sangha President Sudatta Jain will stage an indefinite hunger strike, in front of the DC’s office in Mangalore from September 24,  Addressing media in Mangalore, he said that the government has not taken up any measures to fulfil the demands of the labourers, such as the extension of ESI hospital services to labourers.

District in-Charge Minister BRamanath Rai and Minister for Health U T Khader have failed to safeguard the rights of the labourers in the district. The demands include handing over of ESI hospital to the Central government, extension of ESI services to all villages of DK and Udupi districts and so on. Akhila Bharatha Karmika Sangha District president Harish Kumar Shetty, Secretary Jayamma and others were present.
