BJP demands strict action against misbehaving MLAs

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Jan 5: The BJP district unit has urged the governor to take strict action against opposition members who behave in an irresponsible manner. Regarding this, an appeal was submitted to the governor through the DC V Ponnuraj on Friday.

The ruling party is duty bound to conduct elections for the post of the speaker of the legislative assembly as per the instructions of the governor. Although the governor’s instructions have been followed to the letter, the opposition MLAs have behaved in a disgraceful manner. In its appeal, the BJP district unit has called this “shocking and a disgrace to democracy.”

The opposition MLAs are not permitting them their constitutional rights, they alleged. The speaker has been physically assaulted, and strict action must be taken against those who have attacked him, the appeal demanded.
