St Aloysius confers Eminent Aloysian Awards on 5 alumni

Mangalore, Dec 28: Five alumni of St Aloysius College will receive the Eminent Aloysian Awards during the annual Aloysian conclave and awards function to be held in the brand new air-conditioned auditorium of the new campus of St Aloysius College of Management and Information Technology at Beeri near Kotekar on Jan 3, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. After the awards ceremony, Amruth Someshwar will deliver the annual Aloysian lecture.

The annual conclave will be jointly organized by St Aloysius College, Aloysian Partners from North America (APNA), and Aloysian Partners International (API). St Aloysius College has been organizing this conclave for the past two years. The previous recipients of the Eminent Aloysian Awards are Justice Santhosh Hegde, N Vinaya Hegde, Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Ananthakrishna, Ivan Fernandes, Victor Pais, K V Rao, Rajesh Rao, and Eric Ozario. 

The Eminent Aloysian Awards for this year will be conferred on Lt Gen Nanda of Coorg, an octogenarian army general; the renowned litterateur Amruth Someshwar; Dr Stan D’Souza, the eminent scientist from BARC, Mumbai; Lawrence D’Souza, philanthropist and entrepreneur from Kuwait; and Capt J P Menezes, the former president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce (KCC). These five eminent Aloysians will also be felicitated during the occasion.
