Dr. Austin D’Souza Prabhu’s “Vozram” will be released on Dec 29

Mangalore, Dec 25: “Vozram,” an anthology of Konkani poems (chutuks) written by Dr. Austin D’Souza Prabhu from Chicago, USA and published by Mariads Prakashan, Mangalore, will be released in Hotel Deepa Comforts, Kodialbail, on Dec 29, Tuesday, at 4 p.m. 

Albert W D’Souza, an eminent Konkani leader of Mumbai, will release the anthology. Vishwa Konkani Sardar Basti Vaman Shenoy, the president of Konkani Bhas ani Samskruti Pratistan, Mangalore, will preside over the book release ceremony. 

Dr. Austin D’Souza Prabhu has contributed a lot to Konkani literature. During the seventies, he simultaneously published Konkani magazines “Mithr” weekly, “Jhelo” fortnightly, and “Kannik” monthly. He has also written a large number of stage plays and radio plays for AIR when he was residing in Mangalore. He has penned 5 books in Konkani. His new book “Vozram” is an anthology of 3,500 small poems or limericks, featuring rich vocabulary and wisdom. 

Austin D”Souza Prabhu is currently pursuing a successful career in the US. He was the first Indian to become the Governor of Lions 1-A district.
