Shiksha Bharathi Puraskar conferred on Silas International School

Udupi, Dec 14: The All India Achievers’ Foundation, New Delhi, conferred the prestigious Shiksha Bharathi Puraskar on Silas International School, Udupi, managed by the Crystal Education Trust, on Nov 28, 2009, during the occasion of the 54th national seminar on national economic growth and world peace, held in New Delhi. 

The award, given in recognition of excellence in education, comprises a trophy and a certificate. The All India Achievers’ Foundation selects one school per state to receive the award; and Silas International School was chosen from Karnataka.

Silas International School, located on the outskirts of Udupi, has a beautiful infrastructure, which sprawls over an area of 25 acres. The school, which follows the co-education system, has all the facilities required for imparting top notch education, including hostels and transportation facilities. The school has 1000 students and 40 teachers.

Mr. R Maben, the president of the Cyrstal Education Trust, and Mr. Lindsay D’Cruz, the principal of Silas International School, received the prestigious award from Mr. Krishna Murthy, the former election commissioner of India. 

Mr. O P Sharma, the former governor of Tamil Nadu; Mr. Bhishma Narayan Singh, the former Union Minister; and Mr. Ved Prakash, the secretary of All India Congress Committee, were the dignitaries on the dais during this occasion.
