Interim report almost ready: Justice Somashekar

Mangalore, Nov 25: Justice B Somashekar, the chairman of the B K Somashekar Commission of Inquiry, appointed to find out the truth about the church attacks of Sept 14, 2008, said that the commission’s interim report of around 10,000 pages will soon be submitted to the state government. The Justice commented that the incidents of Sept 14, 2008 were complex.

The report contains details of church attacks, hearings, proposals for remedial measures taken, and so on. He said that the commission has recorded statements of witnesses from DK, Bangalore, Chitradurga, Kodagu, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Chickaballapur, Bellary, Davanagere, and Kolar. The commission hopes to complete its enquiry by December. If required, the commission will request the government for an extension of time to complete its work.
