Proposal to be submitted on NH17 work: Nalin Kumar

Suratkal, Nov 23: Nalin Kumar, the Dakshina Kannada MP, garlanded the statue of Shreenivas Mallya at a felicitation programme organized on his birthday at NITK, Suratkal on Nov 22, Sunday.

In his speech, he spoke about the delay in the repair work of NH17 and informed the gathering that a proposal will soon be submitted at the Lok Sabha Session. He expressed grief at the fact that the National Highway Department has failed to cooperate efficiently with the District Administration. He said that the proposal about to be submitted would suggest to the government to construct Uppinangadi - BC Road, Suratkal - Kundapur Road, and Shiradi Ghat Road as four ways. 

Finally, he said that the government has to provide the basic facilities to citizens while implementing its special economic plans.

The driver allegedly lost control of the bus because he was dozing. But Mallikarjunappa said that the actual cause is still unknown and the case is being investigated.
