Tulu cultural event in Bangalore

Mangalore, Nov 20: The organizers of the World Tulu Conference had initially decided to hold all programmes related to it in Mangalore, Kasargod, Udupi, Bantwal, and Puttur only. But now they have decided to hold some of the programmes in Bangalore and many other places too, considering the fact that the programmes have elicited a huge positive response from the Tulu-speaking public. 

The regional cultural programme will be organized in Bangalore at Rajkumar Kalakshetra, Rajaji Nagar, on Nov 29, by the World Tulu Conference Committee in collaboration with the Dakshina Kannada Jain Maitrikoota, Tuluvarenkulu, Mogaveera Sangha, Basel Mission Christian Association, Anand Balaga, Tuluvare Chavady, Tulu Mithrer, Beary’s Welfare Association, and many other organizations.

Dr P Dayanand Pai, the Bangalore-based entrepreneur, will inaugurate this cultural event. D Surendra Kumar will preside over it. The chief guests will be B L Shankar, the former speaker; Jayaprakash Hegde, the former minister; and Eshwar Daithota, the journalist. 

The cultural programme will incorporate the proverbs of Tulunad, folk dances, paddana, Tulu Yakshagana, and Harikatha programmes. The masters of ceremony will be Uday of Dharmasthala, member of the Karnataka Tulu Academy and K Gunapal Jai, the convener.
