EvDO data cards are finally here

Mangalore, Nov 19: The greatly anticipated Evolution Data Optimized/Only (EvDO) card has finally arrived. BSNL has finally released the EvDO card at a simple programmed organized at the Kankanady telephone exchange on Nov 16, Monday. 

MLA N Yogish Bhat released the card. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, CEO of Karnataka Bank P Jayaram Bhat and Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj were also present during the occasion. S M Hedge, the DK telecom district public relations officer, made the welcome speech. K M Shetty, the general manager, expressed gratitude. 

EvDO, a wireless broadband service, can be installed in laptops and used while roaming. Internet can be accessed at the speed of 2.4 mbps. There are no registration charges. The data card costs Rs 4,192; and the monthly cost of usage is Rs 999.
