Buses pelted with stones, 8 students suspended

Mangalore, Nov 17: Vamanjur has still not come back to normal following the assault on a group of 5 students of Yedapadvau Swami Vivekananda PU College. 

In Vamanjur, some unknown people pelted stones at a bus, injuring the driver of the bus. Security agencies have been deployed to maintain law and order in the area. 

The 4 accused who were arrested absconded from Wenlock Hospital, where they were taking treatment for injuries. 

The management of Swami Vivekananda PU College has suspended a group of II PUC students comprising Mohammed Naufal, Hatheem, Imtiyaz, Taufiq, Mohd. Farooq, Shihabuddin, Abdul Sameer, Yahya A P for unacceptable and rude behavior. 

Stones were also pelted on a bus going to Karkala and the glass panes were shattered. The driver who was seriously injured was rushed to the hospital. 

KSRP, commando squads, District Armed Reserve Police, and Mangalore Rural Police have been deployed to bring back law and order to the disturbed areas.
