Belthangady, Nov 16: Shree Veereshananda Swamiji of Ramakrishna Vivekanandashram, Tumkur, inaugurated the 77th All Religion Convention, an annual event organized as part of the Lakshadeepotsava festival of Dharmasthala, on Nov 15, Sunday. 

Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadikari of Dharmasthala, who gave the welcome address, said that the world is looking up to India and accepting many things that Indians discard as mere superstition. 

Sri Sidheshwar Mahaswami of Bijapur Jnanayogashram, who also spoke on the occasion, stressed on the importance of truth and said that seeking the truth must be everybody’s chief goal. 

Prominent people such as Ronald Colaco, a Bangalore-based entrepreneur and social worker; Prof Jeevandhar Kumar Hotapete of Mysore; and Dr. B Ismail, the principal of Badriya PU College Mangalore, also made speeches. MLA Abhayachandra Jain and Prof S Prabhakar, the vice president of SDM Education Society, were present. 

D Surendra Kumar Dharmasthala felicitated the speakers. M K S Prabhu, RUDSET director, read the messages; and Dr B Yashovarma, secretary of SDM Education Society, read the citations.
